The department of English is one of the leading departments of the college. Apart from the undergraduate courses the department also runs postgraduate courses. The teachers from the department are very keen on developing the overall personality of the students and therefore keep them engaged in various activities run by the department. Extra coaching classes are engaged for the weaker students to make the class homogeneous. The department is planning to start certificate courses in French and Technical writing.
Hundred percent of the faculty from the department is research oriented. Dr. Kiran Rakibe, Head of the department, has completed his research leading towards Ph. D. and has published several articles in International Peer Reviewed journals. He has presented many papers in national and international seminars/conferences. He is working on the editorial board of seven international journals. There are two books to his credit as an editor. Dr. Kiran Rakibe is an approved counselor of IGNOU and YCMOU, two of the leading Open Universities. He is also working as a coordinator of the study centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Open University. Dr. Kiran Rakibe has received Rajashri Shahu Maharaj National Teacher Award for his contribution to the teaching field. Prof Rajesh Zankar is also an approved counselor of YCMOU. He has published 07 research papers in reputed journals. He is an editor of a book A Contemporary Translation Studies. His translation work of Dalit Short Stories is on the verge of publication. Prof. Ms. Sangita Aher completed her M. Phil. From YCMOU and has published 04 research papers in reputed journals. Ms. Manjusha Nerkar has registered herself for M. Phil in SP Pune University, Pune and has published 01 research paper in journals. Ms. Sanjyogita Kendale looks after the PG section. She has published one research paper in journal having ISSN.

Though the department of English does not have registered consultancy the faculty from the department formally or informally guide and work for the other teachers from the same college as well as other colleges.
Apart from this the students are guided informally for the examinations like NET/SLET/ Competitive Examinations. Some passed out students also come to the department while preparing for the interview or other examination guidance. The faculty members also deliver lectures on improving communications skills in various social and professional bodies.
